"The book these came from said some of the paint jobs cost $15,000 and had to be repeated every 3 months as the cat's hair grows out. Must be nice to have $60,000 a year just to keep your cat painted!
I have this book floating around, somewhere... and WHY paint cats?! I bet some of them need to be sedated before they'll allow themselves to be subjected to that!
Hi, I was under the impression that the book was an artistic "joke" as it were. And that the pictures are in fact photoshop. The intent of the authors was apparently to see if they could actually get people to do it by talking about it. an experiment in "formative causation." http://www.snopes.com/photos/arts/paintedcats.asp
In case folks get too upset. On the other hand, Frank seems to have found someone who has actually painted a cat.

yes the reason it is so high because the cat needs to be put out for the procedure.
the paints are non toxic though.
i was once working in a rich ladies home and she had a cat done up all painted for the holidays. pretty cute and the cat didn't seem to mind.
